No complaints about ethanol use

INFORUM- The Forum of Fargo-Moorhead

I have used 10 percent ethanol in all tractors and vehicles on the farm since it became available to me about 30-plus years ago and have never had an engine problem resulting from ethanol. The vehicles and tractors in mention are from a 1924 Model T Ford to 1940s and 1950s tractors. Our 1950 IH Model M with a loader was used every day for cattle chores and never failed for a fuel problem.

We ran a 1950 Ford car for over 200,000 miles without a problem. Our 1989 Buick Park Avenue has over 350,000 miles without a problem; our 1998 Buick has over 215,000 miles without a fuel problem. I have also used it in grain auger motors, ATVs, and whatever small engines with no fuel problems.

No one will convince me that ethanol is a problem.
